The border of your clock widget is a visual approximation of the battery’s power level. Color relatively changes and reflects in green, red, or blue according to power status.
Here explains what those colors represent:
The gray gap appears when the battery power becomes < 100%.
Red: Battery power is < 15 %
Blue: Battery power is > 15 % and not in charging status
Green: Battery is currently in charging status
