[Healthcare system] Regular calibration of blood pressure on ASUS VivoWatch 6

(1) Why is it important to regularly calibrate the blood pressure on ASUS VivoWatch 6?

ASUS VivoWatch uses preset personal data, such as gender and age, as a foundation and continuously optimizes through AI and advanced algorithms to compute a personalized blood pressure model for each wearer. To ensure the most accurate blood pressure measurements, it's advisable to calibrate ASUS VivoWatch 6 using an arm-type blood pressure monitor once a month.

The high and low values inputted by users on ASUS HealthConnect serve as reference points for the VivoWatch 6 software, guiding the algorithm to maintain the closest possible match to the wearer's condition and provide the most precise blood pressure readings.

(2) How often should blood pressure be calibrated?

It's recommended that blood pressure calibration be performed regularly, once a month.

(3) How to calibrate the blood pressure on ASUS VivoWatch 6

1.     Launch the ASUS HealthConnect App and navigate to the Devices > Blood Pressure Calibration section.

2.     Read the blood pressure calibration instructions and input the high and low values obtained from your arm cuff blood pressure monitor into the provided dialogue box. Once done, press I understand to transmit the data to your ASUS VivoWatch. This constitutes the calibration process as outlined within the HealthConnect App.

3.     Following this, perform a blood pressure measurement directly on your ASUS VivoWatch 6. Upon completion of the measurement, the blood pressure calibration will be finalized.

4.     To maintain data accuracy, it is advisable to conduct blood pressure calibration once every month.

(4) Implications of Prolonged Neglect in Blood Pressure Calibration

Failure to regularly calibrate the blood pressure on your ASUS VivoWatch, despite prolonged usage, may result in missed opportunities for parameter comparison by the device's AI algorithms and predictive models. While users can still measure blood pressure, the results may exhibit slight deviations. To ensure consistently accurate blood pressure readings, it is recommended to calibrate the ASUS VivoWatch 6 using an arm cuff blood pressure monitor monthly.

(5) Uphold the Practice of Single User Per ASUS VivoWatch

The blood pressure readings obtained from the ASUS VivoWatch are derived from signals captured by its sensors in conjunction with user-specific data. These are then processed using AI algorithms and predictive models. The accuracy of blood pressure measurements may vary depending on factors such as frequency of use, calibration frequency, and duration of product usage.

(6) Transferring ASUS VivoWatch Ownership? Reset to Factory Settings First

Reset the device to its original factory settings before transferring a used ASUS VivoWatch 6 to another user. Incorrectly configured personal data (e.g., gender, age, height, weight, dominant hand) can adversely affect the accuracy of blood pressure measurements. Once the device is reset and personal data is reconfigured, the initial setup and calibration will be performed before utilizing the ASUS Health watch's measurement functions.
