Share your network in a flash
When you are asked to share internet connection, you don't need to have your friends enter your password, especially if it contains complicated set of characters. ZenFone 3 can generate a QR code that embeds the password, SSID, and other Wi-Fi settings. All they need is to launch the QR code scanner on devices and scan your QR code, then they can access your hotspot in one second.
To share your network, go to Settings > More …> Tethering & portable hotspot >Turn on Portable Wi-Fi hotspot >Tap Share network. Your friend can immediately get connected to hotspot after scanning the QR code.
Note: Sharing your network may incur extra costs of additional data usage. Please check with your mobile carrier regarding data plans. Furthermore, you can manage your advanced hotspot settings by adding specific devices to whitelist, limiting the number of devices on your hotspot, and removing unknown devices from accessing your hotspot. Next time when you want to connect or share Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi QR code scanning brings the speed and convenience.
The above features are only available on the ZenFone 3 series with Android 7.0 and above.
