Need advice buying a laptop

Hi there guys I am after a laptop and as my phone and routers are all Asus I thought why not!?!
I am not a gamer but I am a very impatient man so I want a laptop thats fast.
My price is probably around$1500 au dollars give or take a hundred or so.
I don't know a lot about technical stuff so I am asking you guys for suggestions and perhaps what laptops I should NOT be buying,if you know what I mean. I have enough problems with bugs on my phone I don't want them on a laptop please
