Where Is Lockdown?

I have  Zenfone 9, on Android 13 (build WW_33.0804.2060.100). The Lockdown option is nowhere to be found: searching settings for "Lockdown" returns nothing, the power button menu doesn't show it (the 4 options are Emergency, Power Off, Restart, and Screenshot), and I can't find it under Security & Lock screen. This is an essential security feature - where can I find it on the Zenfone 9?

I see...

I can think of a problem, if we use a password as a method of unlocking, you need a standard keyboard, a keyboard app such as Gboard or SwiftKey. This is a security hole because you depend on external applications that you can install and they can give you.

The Binance application only allows the use of Gboard keyboard during the startup wizard, when entering the credentials for the first time and then I can use SwiftKey.

Try to change the security by password by adding a PIN (6 numbers minimum), you may already see the lockdown option. The numeric keypad PIN on the lock screen is native Android.

Tried changing Password to Pin - same behavior. Only those 4 buttons are there, not the 5th "Lockdown."

Yeah, I'm aware. This is an issue in Android itself, though some vendors have fixed it (e.g. Samsung). Ridiculous that stock Android doesn't have this by default. But that's another topic altogether 😉

I'm sorry I didn't help you find a solution. Perhaps there is an option in this regard that I cannot think of. Our friend @Mansi_ASUS  can always help us.

Regarding security and lock screen, there is a CRITICAL security gap. You can activate the flight mode or turn off the phone while locked. I don't know if it's Android Stock's fault or Asus's, but they have to fix it.

This I put two weeks ago:

Hey @metal450,
The Lockdown option is under Settings -> Display -> Power Button menu -> Item display manager -> Lockdown.
It is deactivated by default but it can be activated there.
