Australian telcos to start TAC blocking my Zenfone 8 from 31/12/2025

Hi Asus,

A call to help with a possible firmware update for Australians.

I received the following message from my network provider Felix (MVNO on TPG Vodafone):

Hi, regulations require devices not configured to access emergency 000 calling to be blocked from using voice, SMS and data services. This applies across all mobile providers in Australia. We have identified this impacts the device you are currently using. This device type is no longer permitted to be used on our network. Your device will be blocked on our network on Wednesday 31st December 2025. It is urgent that you now change to an approved device to stay connected. Need help? Chat with us: [URL redacted] to discuss your options, including information about alternative low cost or no cost mobile phones that can access the emergency call service - or alternatively visit your nearest Vodafone store who are partnering with us: [URL redacted]. Visit [URL redacted] for more info. Note: Please do NOT make an emergency 000 call to test your device.
Thanks, felix.

My device is: Zenfone 8 16/256GB, TAC 35212046,firmware version 33.0210.0210.332 (final version?)

So now to my big question: Could, and would Asus provide one more special firmware update for the Zenfone 8 in order to meet the  Australian telco requirements for VoLTE and VoLTE emergency calling compatibility on all 3 networks like Samsung has done with some models? The Zenfone 8 is by far my most favourite phone ever (replacing my Xperia XZ2 Compact) due to it's compact size and huge 16GB RAM. I would like to keep using this phone for another 10 years without having to downgrade to some kind of big phone.
