Can a community moderator please give some kind of update as to whether or no the phone will be usable again in the future for google pay/services?

Same here — I can’t use any payment apps, not even eBay. The ChatGPT app doesn’t work either.
I contacted ASUS through their chat support, and they told me to bring my phone to a service center… 🤦‍:female_sign:
I explained that it’s not a hardware issue, so they might get back to me within two business days. When they do, I'll post their answer here.
Also, guys: do NOT do a factory reset. I already tried that — it doesn’t fix anything. This seems to be a certification or licensing problem between Google and ASUS.

It still doesn't work. I got happy because the Wallet asked me to re-verify, but to no avail.

I checked my old Asus phones, all sorts of Zenfone, on Android 8 and 9, and Google Pay works there. Perhaps it's worth finding a way to roll back to Android 11 or 12 to replace Android 13.
