RoystoysIt's possible that the cache had information containing the primaty codec used.https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/197719#Comment_197719
Bizarre,I finally worked out what my problem was ,I think. This morning the same two bugs happened,a, when talking to someone over Bluetooth they can't understand me ,b, when using android auto via the button on my steering wheel the Google assistant could not understand me. So today I tried simply clearing all cache,s and it's back to normal.
Is this possible or just a coincidence?
Who knows only time will tell but I am cautiously optimistic as it has not packed up since and usually when it plays up the ONLY thing that would help was a hard reset.
Why would this happen?

DanishbluntWell there goes that idea. It did it again today so I cleared the caches and no dice. I thought it was a bit too easy, must be my bad carma but my problems never resolve themselves that easily.https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/198022#Comment_198022

RoystoysIts clearly a codec problem, if it's not your phone it may be your media device inside your toyota, maybe you could find settings forcing a codec there.https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/198082#Comment_198082

I am starting to think it may be my Van thats the problem so I called Preston Toyota and they are going to have a look at it and see what happens?
It's not even three years old yet but I am really hoping that's the problem because it is driving me nuts 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

DanishbluntWell it did it again today so I put it on safe mode and the voice was back to normal as far as the android Auto bug I don't know because it won't run in safe mode.https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/198256#Comment_198256

RoystoysI don't thinkl you can classify it as a bug, it's more a tyoical bluetooth being a hassle problem. I had similair problem with other devices, it's best to be 100% sure what codecs to use otherwise u get problems.https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/198437#Comment_198437

So I have hard reset, again, and installed the bare minimum number of apps I can live with and see what happens. A big pain about the bug is it's intermittent and sure enough every time I have access to another phone to try my van on it won't play up
