[Asus 6z] Lock Button doesn't work sometimes.

I don't know if this is an hardware or software issue, I just got this phone yesterday but I noticed , screen won't turn off by just pressing the lock button. It works both ways, I can't unlock it by just pressing it. I have to do touch lock. What is weird is it it's not consistent. It works sometimes and sometimes it goes into distress call.

Let me know if this is a hardware or software issue. Additional info: Smart Lock is off

Have you got a case on your phone ? Maybe it is responsible of your problem ... ? Especially if it covers the buttons.

I am using Case provided by Asus in the box.

When you say lock button, you mean the power button right? And all device security is turned off?
Maybe you could try a factory reset since you've only had it for one day. Not much to back up
