Hello ASUS Community,
I’m posting here to report an issue with my ASUS ZenBook 14 OLED (UX3405MA) purchased on August 3, 2024. The device is still under warranty.
Last night, I closed the laptop normally and left it untouched on a flat table in an air-conditioned room. This morning, when I opened the lid gently, I heard a cracking sound, and I saw that the screen had started to crack from a hole or cutout near the webcam area — a location that seems structurally weak. As I continued to open the lid slowly, the crack continued to spread.
There was:
- No fall, no pressure, no mishandling.
- The laptop was not inside a bag or under anything heavy.
I’ve attached videos clearly showing- The origin of the crack near the camera
This seems to be an internal design flaw or hinge stress issue, as I’ve seen other ASUS users reporting similar cracks in the same location. I believe this should be covered under warranty or at least considered for goodwill repair, as it was not caused by physical damage.
Please advise on the next steps for inspection or service. I'd appreciate ASUS looking into this seriously as I’ve taken great care of the device.
Thank you,
Udhaya shree
