Hi everyone,
I’ve been having an issue with my ASUS laptop keyboard lately some keys like the E, R, and sometimes the spacebar stop working randomly. After a restart, they might work again for a bit, then stop.

A few things you can try
Since it works after a restart, it’s almost certainly software not the keyboard itself.

It could be either a software or hardware issue. I’d start by updating or reinstalling the keyboard drivers in Device Manager. Sometimes that alone can fix random key failures.

Thanks for the suggestion. I updated and even reinstalled the keyboard drivers via Device Manager, but the problem is still there.

Since updating the drivers didn’t help, try checking the keys with an online keyboard tester. If the same keys don’t work there, it’s most likely a hardware issue and the keyboard may need repair or replacement. But if they work fine in the tester, then it’s probably a software issue that can be fixed with a clean boot or system reset.

I tested the keyboard using testeteclado.com.br, and all the keys work fine there. But the issue still happens during regular use keys stop responding randomly, then work again after a restart. If it’s not hardware, what else could be causing this? Any idea what I should try next?
