Description: Power Limit Removed?
Model: UX433FN
Frequency of Occurrence: Always
Reset OS: No
I updated my Zenbook UX433FN to the latest version of Windows 10 yesterday, and noticed something bizarre.
Originally, my laptop never drew more than 8W of power (which I could see in Throttlestop) and the CPU clock speed never went above 1.8 gHz.
Now, it appears the power limit is around 30W, and the CPU turbos up to ~3.3 gHz. Unfortunately, this causes it to reach the 92 degree thermal ceiling very quickly, so don’t get too excited about newfound gaming performance!
Any ideas on what’s caused this to happen? Is it a deliberate tweak by Asus, or is my laptop just misbehaving?
