Plugged in charger for Zenbook Duo 14 UX, entire system turned off482

Hello,

I'm in a bit of a dire situation right now, I was working a couple of minutes ago and decided to plug my charger into my laptop which caused my entire system to shut down.

Never seen anything like this, I've unplugged everything, tried holding down the power button. The little light on the power button is still on but nothing will start up again.

It's a rather old laptop as I've had it for around 2 and a half years now. Had a couple of issues with overheating as I am constantly on performance mode for work and has crashed a lot recently (due to summer temps and lack of extra ventilation I presume), but the laptop was working just fine up until I plugged the charger in.

The charger itself seems to be in okay condition, I am unable to unscrew the backplate as of right now. I am thinking it could be an issue with the battery but I'm completely stumped right now.

Apologies for the title, the model is UX482EGR

@BerryNutty
Please press and hold the power button until the laptop shuts down, remove all devices connected to the laptop, and let the laptop sit for 10-15 minutes. Then, connect only the charger and check if the laptop can be turned on. If the issue persists, it is recommended to take the laptop to a repair center for further inspection.
