no Thunderbolt license with brand new Zenbook UX3405CA

Star I

Hi, just received a brand new Asus zenbook i9 ultra laptop.

bought Thunderbolt cable and installed Thunderbolt share on the new laptop and my older zenbook (also has thunderbolt ports)

I get a Intel message saying that both laptops are now connected by thunderbolt share popping up on both laptops, but actual thunderbolt share software refuses to open to allow any transfer between laptops as it states license can't be found.

what is the point of Asus making such a fuss about thunderbolt 4 when it fails to license the product on a brand new high end laptop?

anyone else out there had a similar failure and is there a work around ?

really dispointe dthat Asus seem to be selling this laptop without a thunderbolt 4 license!!

May I ask if the Thunderbolt Share software you installed was downloaded from the Intel website?
Could you please let us know the current BIOS version, system version, and OS build version of your laptop?
Would it be possible for you to provide a screenshot of the error message for our reference?
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."

Hi Falcon, thanks for getting back to me.

  • Software downloaded from Intel website - latest  version 1.1.60.64 on both laptops
  • new laptop - Asus Zenbook 14 UX3405CA

  • system version -  not sure what you mean here - see attachments
  • OS Build - windows 11 home 64 bit v10.0.26100.6584

May I ask if you could further assist by providing the brand and model of the TBT cable you are using, as well as a photo showing its connection to the laptop?
Additionally, I have sent you a message, please refer to the steps in the message to record and provide the required information.
I will forward the details to the technical team for further confirmation.
Sorry for any inconvenience it may be caused.

HI Falcon - the cable is as follows -

ConnBull Thunderbolt 5 Cable 80Gbps

Providing you with a photo with the cable attached to my laptop is pointless and will do nothing to assist in resolving this issue

AsLogDumpTool2 is currently running on the machine and will be forwarded to you on completion.

thanks again for your assistance
