I had to raise this issue up over two months ago and the issue still persists. I tried everything from uninstalling the camera drivers in Device Manager, reinstalling them, updating the BIOS version, all from the official ASUS drivers website. It's driving me nuts I can't even use the camera! I don't want to have to go down to the local store which is far from me in order to use the laptop! If there is a software update you can provide, it's high time you guys did something for this Zenbook A14.

Hi

How do you know the camera is not working?

I had one where the camera worked, BUT WINDOWS decided on a safety and security policy and prevented it from being used by applications.  Some things in the list you have already covered, methinks, but not all.....

  1. Enable Camera Access in Privacy Settings
Go to Start > Settings > Privacy > Camera. Make sure Camera access for this device is turned On. Also, enable Allow apps to access your camera and Allow desktop apps to access your camera to ensure applications can use the camera.

  2. Close Conflicting Apps
Check if another app is using the camera, blocking access. Close all apps that might be accessing the camera. Use Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to end any camera-using processes.

  3. Update or Reinstall Camera Drivers
Open Device Manager, expand Cameras, right-click your camera, and select Update driver or uninstall and then restart your PC to reinstall drivers automatically. You can also check your computer manufacturer’s website for the latest drivers.

  4. Check Antivirus or Firewall Settings
Some security software may block camera access. Temporarily disable antivirus/firewall or add an exception to allow camera use.

  5. Use Hardware or Keyboard Camera Switches
Some laptops have physical camera kill switches or keyboard shortcuts (e.g., Fn + F6 on MSI, F10 on Asus, F8 on Lenovo, or a slide switch on HP) to enable/disable the camera.

  6. Enable Camera in BIOS
Restart your PC and enter BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F2 or Del during boot). Ensure the camera device is enabled there.

  7. Run Windows Camera Troubleshooter
Use the built-in troubleshooter in Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Camera to automatically diagnose and fix issues.

  8. Reset or Reinstall the Camera App
If using a specific camera app, try resetting it via Settings > Apps > Camera > Advanced options > Reset or reinstalling it.

  9. Perform a Clean Boot/System Restore if Necessary
If problems persist, perform a clean boot to identify software conflicts or revert Windows to a previous restore point if camera issues started recently.

By carefully following these steps, you can unblock and restore your camera functionality on Windows when security settings or other factors cause it to be blocked.
