I am currently experiencing recurring and unpredictable issues with my ASUS Zenbook S14 (Core Ultra 5), which are severely impacting its usability. Upon powering on the device, the system intermittently crashes during startup. This begins with all desktop icons disappearing, the mouse pointer entering a constant loading/buffering state, and the system becoming unresponsive. I am often forced to wait several minutes, during which I attempt multiple mouse clicks without any feedback from the system. Eventually, the entire screen turns black. After some time, the system recovers and the desktop environment returns to normal.
In one particularly concerning instance, the laptop abruptly powered off on its own. When I attempted to turn it back on, there was no display output at all—the screen remained completely black. However, pressing the Caps Lock key triggered the LED indicator, suggesting the system was receiving power but not booting correctly. I left the device off overnight, and by the next morning, it was able to start normally.
What is most troubling is that this machine is relatively new and equipped with high-end specifications. Yet it exhibits instability and erratic behavior that I have never encountered on my older HP Notebook (i5 4th generation), which has significantly lower specifications but operates consistently without these issues.
Device: ASUS Zenbook S14 (UX3405MA)
Processor: Intel Core Ultra 5 125H
Issue Frequency: Intermittent, occurs during most startups
Key Symptoms: Disappearing icons, frozen cursor, system lag, screen blackout, unexpected shutdown
Recovery Method: Waiting several minutes or overnight
Comparison Device: HP Notebook (i5 4th Gen)—no such issues observed

Based on your description, the issue might be caused by system instability.
To rule out a system malfunction, we recommend backing up your data and restoring the system to its original state for observation.
