Hi

Make, Model and OS, also any details about the camera that you can please.

To install or reinstall drivers/firmware for an ASUS built-in camera, follow these steps:

  1. Enable the Camera in Device Manager:

    • Press Windows key + S, type Device Manager, and open it.

    • Expand the Camera section.

    • Right-click your camera device and if there is an Enable device option, click it. If it's already enabled, proceed to the next step.

  2. Uninstall and Reinstall the Camera Driver:

    • In Device Manager, right-click your camera device again and select Uninstall device.

    • Check the box for Delete the driver software for this device if available, then click Uninstall.

    • After uninstalling, go to the top menu in Device Manager, click Action > Scan for hardware changes. Windows should detect the camera and reinstall the driver automatically.

    • Restart your computer afterward.

  3. Download the Latest Driver from ASUS Official Support:

    • Visit the ASUS Support website.

    • Enter your exact ASUS device model in the search bar.

    • Go to Support > Driver & Tools for your model.

    • Download the latest camera driver available for your Windows version.

    • Install the driver manually by running the downloaded file.

  4. Use MyASUS or ASUS Support Agent for One-Click Updates:

    • Install the ASUS Support Agent tool if available for your model.

    • Use it to perform a one-click driver update which can include camera drivers.

  5. Check Windows Permissions and Settings:

    • Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.

    • Make sure Allow apps to access your camera is turned on.

    • Check the list of apps below to confirm camera access is allowed for the apps you want to use.

  6. Update Windows and BIOS:

    • Run Windows Update to ensure all system components and drivers are current.

    • Update your system BIOS if recommended via ASUS support instructions to improve system stability.

These steps are recommended by ASUS support for troubleshooting camera issues and installing drivers.

If after these steps the camera still does not work, contact ASUS customer support for further assistance as it could be a hardware issue.

This approach covers enabling, uninstalling/reinstalling, downloading drivers from ASUS, checking Windows permissions, and updating the system.
