Charging limit query

Hii i want to know what happens if you leave phone charge overnight while setting battery limit to 80%. Will it still damage my battery?

The charger keeps the battery at 80% until it is plugged out. So doesn't that damage that battery cell if kept for longer duration ?

Suppose my battery reached 80% and i unplugged it after 5 hours so is my battery still good or the constant charge to maintain 80% actually damage the cell?

I am not much familiar in this. I would appreciate if anyone enlightens me.
