Overheating

Hey everyone I have a question since I have the Rog 8 pro phone I noticed that it has a problem with overheating, even when I do nothing on it, it reaches very high temperatures.  I gave the phone back for warranty once and they didn't find a problem, but they updated the drivers and then everything worked normally until the system update.  I don't know what to do. Has anyone had a similar problem? If so, how do I solve it?  Thank you very much for any help, There is also a problem with something using the processor, but I don't know what is using the processor.

After a system update its normal that the phone is heating up because its still setting up in the background. I mostly recommend doing a  reboot after if the temps still stay at 41c after the update maybe a app is glitched in the update progress and keep restarting finishing setting up progress in the background. That can also happened sometimes on Android.

The other factor is the changes of android 15. Android 15 relays more on the Vulkan API what makes more use of the phone hardware compared to OpenCL. So the phone will like makes full use of the CPU and GPU its also the reason of the increase power draw.

Hello @RaVii

As @Koudmaker mentioned, this is normal after updating the phone, the process might take about a week, but if you keep having issues after a week then I would recommend doing a factory reset, this normally clears all the issues that could show up with an update and gives you a clean firmware install.

"Please wait a week so you get used to how slow and hot it is after the update."  Come on, even Google's hacky old JVM doesn't need a week for JIT/AOT compilation.  This update has new bugs or old bugs being triggered.

I was watching DevCheck and noticed that sometimes processors didn't throttle down after compute demand was gone.  I saw some get stuck at 2515 MHz.   The speed stayed high until demand changed the CPU speeds, but they could get stuck again later.  Rebooting is a temporary fix.

Sometimes the phone stops entering deep sleep.  Battery usage shows "System apps" using all the battery power.  Rebooting is a temporary fix.

The battery usage graph goes blank after rebooting.
