BT8/BE14000 3.0.0.6.102_58301 FW Upgrade - So far, so good

Rising Star II

Just upgraded my 3 node BE14000/single node BD5 to 3.0.0.6.102_58301 on the BE14000 nodes. So far no issues. Upgrade went well.

I still have one main SSID WiFi 7, 2.4/5Ghz, one IoT no WiFi 7, 2.4/5GHz, one IoT no WiFi 7, 2.4GHz and one WiFi 7, 6GHz. I separated the 6GHz band into its own SSID in a previous FW upgrade. Why? Because the single "loaded" SSID with WiFi 7, 2.4/5/6GHz caused my Samsumg Galaxy 24  Plus to dop connections. No issues after I removed the 6GHz bad from the main SSID.

All Rokus are on the IoT 2.4/GHz SSID. Working fine - so far. Ring cams are on the same 2.4/5GHz SSID.

Just posting to share my experience.

So i actually registered to reply to another BT8 problem thread. Done registering, the thread shows as locked.....

Anyways.. My AsusRouter app shows loads of messages in notifications about"Ai Detection LAN port 1 of ZenWiFi BT8 is disconnected" / "...Connected." Thought this might have something to do with the random "No internet while wifi is connected."-Topics im reading about.

Edit2: Im just now relizing i dont have a cable connected in LAN port 1... Only in 2.5g WAN + LAN 2 + 2.5g LAN3.

Just upgraded firmware to newest. (58301) Will report back if the messages are gone.

Just one note really eth1, 2, 3 etc may not be numbered in a logical manner, or at least to me a mere human....  (They seem to be inverted on my EBG15, on the front 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 but internally designated 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 )!

Well, this is from looking at the configuration page in the router. Port 1 does not have a cable connected.

IoT wifi might be unstable. I have some Twinkly lights connected to it. Several times a day they switch to a setting i didnt put it on. Reading online, this could be caused by a unstable wifi connection/disconnection from wifi.

I see that OpenWRT might be supported by BT8. Will Aimesh work with OpenWRT ?

Reading a review where i bought it, BT8 could restart wifi cause its picky on network cables. Could this be a thing?

I do not believe OpenWRT supports AiMesh.

Almost all ASUS routers that I have used become unstable when WAN service is unstable.  Defective Ethernet cable, or greater than 100m length can cause issues, but I haven't, at least not yet, found a defective cable I needed to replace.

The second to latest firmware mentions improved stability and the current one says it improves roaming...

@tfhoughton I have gotten the feeling that from 6E to 7 the 6 GHz signal strength has been decreased.  Seems/Seemed like my 6E routers have better range...
