BE96 connected to BE96 via CAT8... yellow port indicated

As the tie suggests I have 2 BE96 routers connected to each other via a 50ft CAT8 cable.

The port detection recognizes this as yellow and is throttling to 100mbps...???

Tried other cables with same result, what do I need to do here to make these routers run?

You will be able to use MLO backhaul and fronthaul using only two BE96U routers with one in mesh and one as the main.

Log into the web settings and be sure to set AiMesh>click on the node>select Management>change Backhaul priority from auto to 10G base-T WAN first. EDiT: LAN first

This should do it.

If you want to aggregate the connection for even greater throughput, you can go to the GUI Settings>WiFi >Wireless Settings>Advanced Settings where you can enable MLO backhaul. If you have any MLO capable clients, you can turn on MLO fronthaul. However, fronthaul can be unstable.

That doesn't do it.  Port still shows as a yellow connection and is being throttled to 100mbps.

I do have the main BE96 as router and the 2nd as a node.

Are you connecting using the 10G ports? One on the main is for your Internet connection and the other is for your node and should be connected to the nodes Internet connection. If this doesn't work you can still boost the connection rate with MLO.

The latest firmware may be the problem. I know it caused problems on my fully wireless system.

Try doing a factory reset on the main and the node. You can used your saved settings in the restore feature. The new firmware doesn't allow a simple reset on my BE96U. Also, move the node closer and try a different Ethernet cable to eliminate the 50 foot cable as a problem.

My mistake. Should have said try 10G base T LAN
