Hello everyone,
I'm new here so excuse me if I'm doing something wrong, but I'm recently thinking of buying this Asus router (RT-AX53U) for using it with Tethering USB mode from my Samsung Phone
The smartphone provides a 300mbps download, 10 mbps upload and 30 ms ping, and here's my question: is this router able to handle this speeds on its USB 2.0 port? If not, why, and what are the realistic speeds I can expect?

Even if it works, using your phone's LTE, 4G, or 5G data stream with a router is a bad idea for many reasons.
Speeds would be slower than at the phone and you could also expect bad connections to the ISP. There are many more reasons not to do this than I care to get into.
Few companies offer this service and only in some areas even with their proprietary equipment for 5G service.

First of all, thanks very much for the answer
What do you mean? I'm not understanding...
I've already tried this way with 2 PCs (with many devices connected via personal windows hotspot or small bridged routers) and the results are the same of my first post.
I'm only asking how that router could work in this setup...
Thanks again.

It should work but I have no experience with the RT-AX53U personally. In fact here is a video of how to set it up on YouTube, but the author doesn't do a speed test:

Thanks for the reply!
I've already seen that video while I was searching the web, but I can't find anything about effective speeds. This was the best router I found, but I'm not sure to buy it at the moment for the reason of this post.
I ask you another question: if tethering usb isn't possible/sure, could I use the 5GHZ hotspot from my smartphone and then connect in client mode any router (what are the best models in this scenario?) to get on his LAN ports at least 200 mbps? I've already tested the hostpot speeds and they are good (300 mbps for sure).
Thanks again and in advance for the answers.
