Hi,

I see there is a new firmware update for this proart monitor. When I try to run it as an adminstrator, it starts to install than fails with an error 0x0800. Does anyone know how to resolve this?

That error 0x0800 can be:

USB-C connection not properly recognized
The firmware tool requires a direct USB-C data connection, not just DisplayPort or HDMI

Missing driver or monitor hub not initialized
Windows may not fully recognize the monitor’s internal hub

Wrong cable type or port
eg.  using a  charging-only USB-C cable or connecting to a non-data USB-C port

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Use a Certified USB-C Data Cable
Make sure the cable supports data + power, not just charging
Avoid adapters or hubs—connect directly to the monitor’s USB-C  port
Connect to a USB-C Port on Your PC That Supports Data
Not all USB-C ports on desktops support full data passthrough
Use a port directly on the motherboard or a known data-capable header

Install ASUS Display Widget or Hub Driver
This ensures Windows recognizes the monitor’s internal controller

 Run Firmware Tool as Administrator
Right-click the updater and choose “Run as administrator”
Disable antivirus temporarily to avoid interference

It did turn out to be the cable. Anker I was using worked for hub devices, but apparently was not fast enough. Ordered longer cable that meets all relevant standards, after using the really short supplied asus cable to my desktop, but not long enough to use permanently.

Hello Team, I too am unable to update my firmware to my PA279CRV

MrDesee_0-1761442295640.png

I keep getting the following error. Here is what I have done already.
1) Ensured W11 is up to date
2) Drivers for the monitor is up to date
3) Attached a quality USB-C to USB-C cable from my PC to the Back of the monitor monitor - Same error
4) Connected a USB-A from my PC to the USB-C port on the monitor - Same error
5) Ran the ASUFirmwareOneKeyUpdate.exe program and it gives me the above error.

I am at a loss as to what to do. What I have noticed, is that there is no .bin file in the extracted file from ASUS, therefore, I cannot use a USB pen drive to update the monitor.

Any ideas?

For me, it did turn out to be the usb c cable. It’s not enough that it be a “good” cable, it needs to be a cable that is rated for high speed data, not just charging. The inexpensive way to test if this is the issue is to use the overly short usb c cable that came with the monitor, maneuver your PC and monitor so they can connect with it, and try the update. If that does not work, it’s something else. For me, it did. Then I bought a certified usb c cable that claims to carry a lot of data. That seems to work well.
