Google has been steadily trashing Android. A few years ago, Google's mandatory use of Storage Area Framework mostly destroyed a whole class of powerful applications by crippling shared storage performance. Their latest attack is forbidding the installation of any application that isn't digitally signed by Google. That kills off non-Google app stores. Not dead enough yet? They've stopped contributing to AOSP.
My next phone needs an unlocked bootloader so Android can be replaced. No exceptions. I need to run apps that use forbidden AOSP APIs, like fast filesystem access. Without that, all the storage and RAM in a high-end phone is worthless.
