Hello All,

If you have any issue with packets loss in this RT-BE58U check the WAN setup.

Dual WAN when is off but you still have on auto detection in Primary WAN field - this functionality is dropping your packets.

The recommand setup is to select 1G WAN port if your ISP connection bandwith is less then 1GB and turn off WAN Auto Detection - setting up fix value on Primary WAN field to 1G WAN / LAN1.

If your ISP has bigger bandwith then 1G please use 2.5G WAN port and select in Primary WAN field 2.5G WAN / LAN - 1.

That Auto Detection option is enabled by default even when you are not using dual WAN and it is producing problems with packets loss. I will try to work with Assus support to maybe provide NOTICE in UI telling that autodetect option is only to start working with router and then needs to be switched to proper WAN port selected by user during Router setup. We will see if they do anything about that.

I just buy router RT-BE58U and I have issue with my connection to internet. I can notice around 20% packet loss on when I'm using router when I'm connected directly to internet without router there is no packets loss. The problem is on the WIFI as well as lan cable connection. I have tried to change router setup but with no success. I need your help I have the most recent firmware: 3.0.0.6.102_39476-gc6e3064_1362-g913c9_BB0C. It looks like the internal router problem.

This is one of the rare models the firmware is different based on hardware version. Please verify on the label at the bottom/back HW Ver 2.0 and not A1?

Since this is newly purchased I suggest you contact ASUS support directly. They may ask you to send a Feedback log which is under Advanced Settings -> Administration -> Feedback (tab).

You may want to try the firmware 3.0.0.6.102_39407 to see if the firmware is the cause...

Thanks for the info. I have created formal ASUS support ticket. We will see how they will respond.

BTW, when you are sending ASUS support ticket you can not attach Feedback file to the ticket 🙂

I do not want to revert back the formal firmware without ASUS support confirmation to do so.
