Absent anything from Asus, I did what you suggested, manual updates on the router and all nodes. It worked fine. Not clear at all as to what the issue was, but at least the code is on. Thanks.

XT9 firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24814 was just released ASUS ZenWiFi XT9 AI Mesh Router

The firmware image is only 24.62 MB, and is corrupted (hash checked after download).

When the router updates to this firmware automatically, the process breaks halfway and AIMesh nodes disconnect.

Please release a working update as soon as possible.

Found same issue. My main router is stuck in a reboot loop now, guessing it is trying to install the corrupted firmware update but won't stay running long enough for me to check. Hesitant to firmware reset because I spent a long time optimizing my network and mesh.

Looks like ASUS have corrected the issue and the download is showing the normal size of the firmware file.

Mine failed when trying to update via the web interface to the router. I downloaded the new firmware from ASUS website and manually uploaded first to my node and then to main router. Now both devices on the new firmware working well.

Hmm, i see two suspicious lines in the log:

platform regulatory.0: Direct firmware load for regulatory.db failed with error -2
ERP: The model isn't under EU SKU!

Has anyone heard from Asus? Or a new file just appeared?. I had tried both the web interface and phone app (not my favorite way to perforn an update) and given the weird hits to my mesh I'll hold off until someone from Asus tells us what's going on.

Oh, FYI - I also have a ZenWiFi AX (XT8) HW Ver: 1.0 node and that did update just fine.

Geoff
