Thank you for you fast response Blake_ASUS. I guess I will have to draw my own conclusions from that and advise friends and family against buying Asus Laptops.

Apologies, I didnt understand that correctly. But thinking about it: you're right. The on/Off being the other way around would actually make more sense...

Hi phbrd, am I correct in understanding you are basically asking for this functionality:

Thanks a lot for your comment pnhrd, As far as I can see, I am already on the latest version (3.01 for my model). Unfortunately, as you mention: it happens very sporadically. And I have no clue how I could reliably reproduce it. I have tested now for a couple of days with both the original hdd, and the Samsung. So far…

Maybe as a clarification: I have this laptop since August. From the start, the max. possible Battery capacity has never been more than 96% of factory. And currently it already lowered itself to 92% of the max. possible capacity. At this rate, I am actually worried that this battery would need to be replaced in the not too…

Thank you Blake_ASUS, I will test this. not sure how fast I can get you feedback, as mentioned: this behaviour is intermittant. Since posting this, I actually have had no issues. But I also am not trusting the laptop to go to sleep mode anymore, and shutting down manually after use.

It actually works fine, but for some reason the Bios seems to "forget" where it can find a bootable device seemingly at random. This means that once every so many days it boots up in the BIOS and I have to create the Boot pointer…

Hi Blake_Asus, Thanks a lot for your reply. That's a shame. Especially because something like a battery replacement is something you can easily do yourself, and is definitly not worth sending the device to a service center (too expensive). I came to a zenbook from a thinkpad (so I am somewhat used to parts availability),…

Hello Blake_Asus, good question. I indeed put in another M2 SSD, as the factory one only has 512Gb. I replaced it with a Samsung 980 Pro T1b (MZ-V8P1T0BW). thank you, Hendrik-Jan

Additional question: do you see this happening with Windows too? I would expect so, as this seems to be a BIOS issue, not an OS issue.
