It has greyed out the option so I am retrying but turning off wifi before the reboot hoping it will allow me to do it before allowing the phone to connect to anything. By turning wifi off and then bypassing most of the setup it did allow me to get to the system update area and turn off auto update so at least it is now on…

There are a lot of people including myself who have posted here indicating that their phones stopped working when the phone was updated to Android 12. Might want to look through the posts and see if you might end up with a bricked phone if it updates. Note I have the same version of phone as yours.

Installed Android 12 and now the phone will not connect to 5G or 4G.
