I paid more attention to this and it seems that taking the phone out of the pocket works nearly always. Picking the phone up from the table it needs more shaking quite often.

On Zenfone 7 Pro there's this weird phenomenon where sometimes an audio application (e.g. Roland Zenbeats and some others like drum simulators) is allowed to waste all the battery in background without the phone "noticing it", even when the phone is not in use for a day straight. I think it happens, if I don't close the…

Those links are a bit of a stretch, BUT the Google threads might have got locked prematurely, so here goes hoping for the best... If Google informed ASUS on this, so there must be some truth. FYI for everyone in this thread: Google also produces errors.

All this big talk about CO2 emissions and we can't even figure out a way to stop throwing our phones away every few years. Updates require effort for sure, but maybe the problem are the unnecessarily diverse product line-ups. Heck, if ASUS were to tell me to pay a bit for major updates after like 2-3 years, I would…

I'm also noticing something weird. ZF 7 Pro starts acting up on Wifi, so I restart the phone and then get all sorts of notifications from Gmail and Proton Calendar. Not sure what's going on, but I'm sure as hell it's the ASUS device.

The Wifi in itself never worked 100% for me in any of the firmware versions. the ZF 7 Pro ist the only device at my home network which randomly complains there is no internet on one of my dual band access points and fails to pair with my TV for screen cast until I restart the phone. I tried 4 different ZF and they were all…

Having a forum for ideas is a really good idea.

Especially, since GSM and 3G will get phased out within next few years in many places and ASUS builds and advertises phones to last a while.

I have a suspicion that sometimes the connections actually do not work because VoLTE is missing and the carrier does not even expect a phone that doesn't support it these days... Today I had to restart my Zenfone 7 (yes, older model, but whatever, it's nearly identical to 8 Flip) or I wouldn't hear anything. The call…

This is a bothersome waste of time for such a basic feature. Why not provide an override that users can test themselves? Especially, when rooting the ASUS devices makes it "just work"...

Maybe there is confusion, since the 64MP mode is only available within settings and not directly on top quick menu? I would prefer 64MP to also be available within the quick menu on the top, since I do switch a lot between 64MP and 4:3 and it's a bit cumbersome to go to settings each time.

Thanks for clearing it up. Now that I know it's by design my OCD will be satisfied.

Ok, this is interesting. One thing that really confused me is that the service guy sent me some RAW photos and almost no stripes were present there and his settings were the same, just a bit different lighting situation: Mine: Can this be caused by the difference in lighting? I think I have observed this myself, but not…

I also noticed this. Recording to SD card worked fine at 4K 60fps before...

Don't send it in. Send it BACK. No kidding, I was "scammed" by ASUS repair partner twice already and the Customer Care Center does not give a damn and suggests to send it in again. As long as it's on 90Hz only, it's a non-issue. I tried 3 Zenfone 7 Pros and they all had the same dark green inconsistency below 50%…

I would much prefer for it to be gone as well. The looks of it is plain intrusive considering that the phone has nice rounded edges, but this bar breaks this appearance on the bottom. It does not fit with the sleek design in my opinion. For whatever reason the apps control the color of the top bar but not the bottom bar,…

I actually tried 3 different Zenfone 7 Pros because nobody could tell me that this is just how 90Hz works. So much time wasted on my side. At least I'll keep the 3rd now.

Yes, like many people who drive alone in their 4-7 seaters. Android is not meant to be a one person glider plane. I assume the missing accounts feature also prevents use of parental controls in Android? It is a feature I will soon need, because, you know, this is a game-ready phone and we have got new generation kidos…

Removing multi-user support from an OS in 2021 is like removing seats from a car...

It was not. As soon as I uninstalled the apps, the percentage got redistributed around, some of it even going to the display. Now tell me that the display is on during the night... (always on is disabled). The battery usage hadn't changed much after uninstall. For whatever reason it's draining when not it use. I might be a…

Ok, I finally read the user manual, it says: "LTE Bands: 1, 3, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40 5G Bands: NR n1, NR n3, NR n7, NR n8, NR n28, NR n77, NR n78 ASUS phone 5G NR Sub-6/4G LTE band compatibility varies by region" It's less than half the advertised 4G bands... 😐️

Lithium likes to be in 20%-80% range, so it does make sense.

Most are just rubbish and now I cannot charge the phone while listening unless I buy another ghetto looking extra device. This is a problem that nobody needed. Oh, and don't forget to carry the 5 dongles with you... This is not OK.

    Just stumbled upon this, now I am a bit confused about the technical specs of the phone. Checked kimovil and it says: "4G LTE B1 (2100), B2 (1900), B3 (1800), B5 (850), B7 (2600), B8 (900), B20 (800), B28 (700), B38 (TDD 2600), B40 (TDD 2300), B41 (TDD 2500)" Checked ASUS website and it says: "FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3,4, 5,…

Also getting this bug around once a day and I don't use it that much. It happens every time I use it for like 1h and switch between apps a lot.
  • edddd
I also noticed that some apps tend to suddenly freeze without any indication, as in they no longer respond to scrolling. This is otherwise a very fast and smooth phone. How does it compare to other phones?
  • edddd
Honestly, removing 3.5mm jacks is the stupidest idea ever. This makes tons of perfectly good vintage equipment obsolete. What gives? Zenfone is my first and last phone that I buy without 3.5mm. I did not realize how bad it is until getting one.

I also noticed some weirdness in battery drain. It constantly goes down overnight... while in energy save profile! Some more weirdness is that some apps are reported to use tons of battery, even though I use them for like 15 mins. So far only had this with sound-related apps like Frequency Generator and Roland Zenbeats.…
