I went to sleep at 37% and woke up 6 hours later on 8%. After the first screenshot of battery usage I had a 30 minute video call on Duo so that's the dip in the middle.

Telstra in Australia allow any phone maker to put the code into their phones, It's up to the phone maker if they want to spend 5 minutes putting it in the ROM or not. Years ago is when Telstra would only allow approved phones to access the network even if they had the code in the ROM but those days are gone because all the…

They could add it in a few minutes as it's just a line of code added to the ROM. Would definitely be a big selling point for a lot of people in Aus.

They do not have the settings in the ROM for our telcos VoLTE as I honestly expected it would. 3 years from now you won't be able to use your phone as a phone if they don't add the settings for our telcos.

The guys over at whirlpool forums have updated the list of officially supported and unofficially supported devices for Telstra VoLTE. Would be great to get Asus phones onto that list of the BYO devices especially as they keep taking bands away from 3g as there's so many devices that support 4g in the list. By 2024 the 3g…

Short answer for now is No. They were originally for a specific country hence why they're flashed with a different ROM and won't get the OTA updates. People at XDA might be able to fix that in the future but don't hold your breath.

I'd gladly test it for Telstra if needed.

The problem with that is the average user won't want to do it for the risk of losing warranty or messing up their phone. They'd and even most of us here would rather keep our phones stock and not have to change it every time there's an update.

So you're saying that air in the atmosphere doesn't move. Very interesting..... I think you need to go back to school buddy as anything big enough that moves in it pushes/pulls air. A few examples of the aero case that covers the vent that causes heat issues: I can be on the train and the phone gets hot with the case on as…

It does with mine, Just have to remember each phone is different and some will create more/less heat than others as some will also utilise the vent more/less than others.

They've definitely worked on it and it is better now than before but it's still there and they would need more time to work on it to completely get rid of the issue.

Same with Telstra, All they need is to put the settings in the rom and it will work. A few years back they used to have to approve each model to use the network or they would block it but that hasn't been around for over a year now.

Just checked it in a semi dark room with brightness at 5% and could actually see the scene but looked a bit red but I'll be testing it out properly tonight when it's darker.

Yep over here every phone sold in a retail shop above $500 supports VoLTE and this phone is over $1600. Even the really cheap $99-250 ones from Coles support it.

They don't even need it certified anymore. (at least for Telstra) Seems like they just don't want to put the settings in and want to use it as a selling point for newer phones.

I just tested mine and it's working but the sound quality is very noisey. Sounds like your mic isn't working at all.

Same issue here. I messaged Asus Service Australia and they said they were only repair support and gave me a link to buy motherboards, graphics cards, computers and another phone. It really sucks when you set your phone to 10w charging and use the case that came with the phone and it heats up like mad but if the case is…
