Ah, thanks for the correction. I hadn't tried them (haven't even unlocked my phone yet), so I only guessed at their successfulness. That said, checking Pixelworks' website, apparently all four ROG Phones use their tech (as well as the ZenPhone 7). Some other notable partners listed, including the Black Shark line, the…

Thanks for the response, Gustav. Having a bit of software development history myself, I'm well aware of the difficulty of fixing issues (unlike a lot of the posters here who seem to think any issue can be fixed overnight like magic). However, there are user-made fixes that do seem to completely fix the display calibration…

Fair enough. Well, I guess it's strange then because you're saying the camera IS disabling Aura for you, but that isn't what I've been experiencing.
  • BPM
Uhh... Wouldn't you want the Aura RGB OFF when using the camera? With it on, it interferes with taking photos. Ideally, the phone should automatically disable Aura when any app accesses the camera due to this (that is, if you had it enabled). That was one thing I liked about my previous phone (Razer Phone 2).

Oh? Weird. I never noticed any issues until now. Guess I was just lucky.

Update: since posting this, the notification LED has worked... sometimes... but not always. Now, another issue I'm running into is with some notifications not popping up until after I've opened the app. A couple of examples: 1) I play Pokémon Masters EX, and it'll give a notification when Pokémon eggs are about to hatch...…

I just attempted to download a video via Brave and didn't run into any issues. It's likely what @himverma2012 suggested. Android 11 introduced an option where it'll automatically revoke permissions from apps if they aren't used (and even seems like some permissions could have been reset during the upgrade from 10 to 11).…

Your issue is that you purchased the Tencent Games version of the phone. There is a pinned thread in this forum about that. In short, because the ROM installed on the phone doesn't match the hardware, OTA updates are disabled. You will have manually update every time there is an update. And, I could be wrong about this,…

Before getting upset, I would advise to wait for an official statement.
  • BPM
I'd say it likely will, but probably not until 2022. Though, there hasn't been any official statement yet, and stable Android 12 hasn't even been released by Google yet.

I wouldn't say it's that much bigger than the phone itself. I tried to measure it, and looks like it's about 2mm of padding on each side. I wouldn't know how to measure its grip, but I'm not at all worried about it slipping out of my hand.

This is the case that I use currently: It gives some decent bump protection to the sides, while still having openings for the Air Triggers. It has a flap to cover the bottom USB-C port and a sizeable cutout on the left side around the heat vent. They say it's compatible with the Aero Active cooler, and while technically…

    1) What app are you trying to download videos from? Can't try to duplicate it if I don't know what you're doing... 2) I have noticed some differences with how some apps handle the notification bar and navigation bar. I don't know if this is an ASUS-specific change or general Android 11 behavior. For example, Mario Kart…

I'm not in India, so I don't know if this will be available for you, but the screen protector I'm currently using is by PULEN. So far, I've found it to be working pretty good. It has holes cut out at the top for the camera, LED, and sensors. In my experience, it has not made the under-screen fingerprint scanner harder to…

If it's that big of a deal to you, your only real option is to get a different phone that has properly calibrated the screen. Who knows if/when ASUS will fix it. And trying to fix it yourself will void your warranty (if you have one). There's been countless threads about this already...
  • BPM
It's a software issue. The screen just needs to be calibrated correctly. Unfortunately, ASUS has not fixed this officially (yet). No amount of screen repairs will fix it, either. There are unofficial means to fix this, which involve unlocking your phone and installing a custom kernel... so I cannot elaborate further here.…

Fair, but it does seem that Xiaomi's strength is mainly in China, but it does say they're growing in Europe and Latin America. Their presence in North America is almost nothing, I think (at least, for now). Still, it shows that they, too, are doing something that's attracting more customers. Something that ASUS could…

My phone is running the latest Android 11 release (18.0410.2106.138), and I'm not having this issue. It shows L1 is enabled and I have full HD streaming. If you're running an older version (either the previous A11 update intended for Taiwan or A10), I would suggest updating to the latest version of A11. If you ARE running…

On a personal level, I do not like any of Apple's products. From the hardware designs to macOS/iOS UI and features, etc. But, I understand WHY they have such a strong brand loyalty. They do have excellent support for their products, and they have the perception that their products are "easier" to use (though, as an…

You will not be able to get OTA updates for your phone. There's a pinned message in this forum covering this. You can manually update still, but it won't be possible to get OTA updates.

While it was a slow process to get here, what matters is that we have 11 now and it overall seems to be better than 10 in nearly every way. Personally, I don't think I've run into any noticeable issues since the upgrade. I do appreciate the effort that went into squashing bugs and pursuing a smooth experience. I've had…

Seems like that may be a hardware issue with your phone, as I had no issue with the proximity sensor test for mine, and I've updated to the latest .138 update.

I can confirm what @Razgriz stated: when hyper charging, it will state as such on the lock screen but the settings menu says "fast charging". I don't know if the settings in Android 10 ever said "hyper charging" there, since I never really noticed it before. However, the estimated time for a full charge is still much…

I don't have Vice City on Android, but I do have GTA 3. I just tested that, and couldn't find any issues with it. With the frame limiter enabled in the options, that hard locks the game to 30 fps. Looking at your previous thread (I don't know why you're creating a second thread for the same issue...), Vice City also has a…

I don't have the Kunai, but I have the TwinView. No issues.

Mate, this is not a hardware issue, and no amount of repairs/replacements will fix it (and for someone like me in the US, there's no ASUS repair centers nearby). This is entirely a software issue, with how the screen is calibrated. The only way this could be fixed by ASUS is with a software update that corrects the screen…

The .138 update is now up on the US Asus support portal (may need to check under Driver & Tools instead of BIOS & Firmware), and likely other regional portals, too (it notes "for TW/WW/EU/RU"). There doesn't seem to be any notable differences from the .133 update, aside from the security patch being updated to June (.133…

As far as I'm aware, the only way to fix it yourself is to unlock the bootloader (not the same as root) and install a custom kernel. I'm not sure if there are any publicly available custom kernels that fix this, but if there are, doing so will likely void your warranty (if you have one).

Strange, it turned on automatically for me (I even got a notification asking if I wanted to disable X Mode to save battery). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I just enabled dual-band wifi (since I don't normally use it) and didn't get wildly different results than before: Still, if disabling it worked for you, then that's good to hear. [Edit]…

I just tested, as well, and got higher marks than Danish. Unlike him, my phone is completely stock, no custom kernel. For the sake of testing, I did another run with X Mode off. I got a lower single-core score than OP (which was expected), but a higher multi-core score (which was not expected). This says to me that…
