    Hi iamaronpaul,

Please tell me your firmware version.
Is there any charging cable inserted when this message appears?
How often does this message pop up? Does it pop up after any specific actions or randomly?
    Could the notification be cleared?
Could you show me a screenshot or short video of the problem? This could help us greatly.
To share videos, please upload it to ASUS WebStorage ( and share the link with us.

    Thank you :)
  • I do have the same problem. It happens when the battery is lower than 45%. It asks for the reverse charging option even though my phone isn't connected to any device or cable. The pop up varies from 1 sec to 30 secs most of the times.

  • I have the same problem, reverse charging always pop up on my phone's screen, and it's kinda annoying. How can i fix this?

  • Hi friends

Thank you for your asking. You may try some troubleshooting steps below at home

    1. try to enter "Safe Mode". If the function works well in Safe Mode yet the issue remains out of Safe Mode, please check on any disturbance from the installed 3rd party apps.

    # How to enter and exit "Safe Mode"

    2. Please check on your current firmware version

    Setting >System>About Phone>Software information

If you try to update to the latest version, does the issue still remain?

Furthermore, please refer to the link below as the similar issue.

  • I have resolved mine based on Mausaurus' blog (can't post it properly since the site says I should be around for a little while longer before posting links, anyway here: http[:]//mausaurus[.]blogspot[.]com/2018/12/how-to-stop-reverse-charging-pop-up[.]html)

What I did was to plug the OTG, wait for the pop-up, then click Cancel.

Hope this helps. Have a great day!
