Facing chaging problem

two days back my phone stopped working. I thought it ran out of battery and turned off and trying to start it againe . Plugged into charger and the red LED flashing. Everytime i try to boot it crashes soon after. Have charged the battery for more than 1 hour and finally it was working. now i am facing chaging problem it was taking to get charging and discaheging very quickly. . Please advise a fix. Thanks.
