one plus was good at times of oneplus 6 and 6t but after oneplus 7 series they are just money hungry just like apple and samsung
Asus Rog 2 is gaming phone and it's really does need vents for heat dissapation which makes it vunerable for water .
Even i can't expect ROG 3 to have water resistant unless ASUS finds new technology to do so.
One plus 7t was value for money smartphone .
Check it's price 8gb/128 only 35,000 Indian Rupees .
And 8gb/256 which is same price as Rog 2
what about people who bought 7 for same price right before the release of 7t?
For them it's a total nightmare . That is why i wait till DECEMBER every year to buy best Value for money phones of the year
How much is the Samsung Note 10+ sold for in India?
QuadHD+ AMOLED , I'm sure is very nice and all - but our priorities on ROG1 and ROG2 have not been resolution.
We were first to introduce 90Hz 1ms AMOLED.
We were first to introduce 120Hz 1ms AMOLED.
The priority is not on resolution above everything else, games generally work at FullHD as well. But sure - as a wish list - QHD+ for you :)
Thank you for adding it to wish list
It's actually 4x more pixels. Which I see not necessary on screen of this size. You can see it only when zooming in. In my opinion Asus has done it right here. Because to run a fast paced action game it requires not only processing power (which would eat battery) but also the adequate internet connection for all this data to pass through in real time. Much more important would be to increase max brightness, decrease min brightness. Maybe also increase saturation to satisfy those who like Samsung screens. Have more quality control in calibrating the screen. But I see no need to increase resolution. I had Samsung Note 8 with quad resolution but the battery would die already at 1pm. Also at first it charmed with colours that pop up, but later you realize those are totally fake. At first beautiful colours get you, but the image quality is actually inferior to Rog 2.
My suggestions to Asus regarding Rog 3. Keep this beautiful and functional design and improve specs: better screen with same resolution, add Dolby Vision together with HDR+, add Dolby Atmos together with DtsX, absolutely keep headphone jack for our audiophile headphones, make the headphone jack also a mic in jack, maybe add a one class better DAC, add the option to balance sound left/right, optimise camera software (existing sensors are great, 4K videos played on my LG C9 4K 55" screen are broadcast quality) and add optical zoom, maybe add a telephoto camera (but not at the cost of replacing wide angle), polish UI in general to have less bugs, add more functionality to Armoury Crate (recording simultaneously mic and in-phone sound, more services/platforms to stream to, more options to organise games, more options for notifications lightning) and most important, provide global VoLTE and VoWiFi support.
How should all of these things fit inside?
Dolby and DTS on one phone ?
OEMs need to license whatever audio ports they are using imo and it's more of a marketing thing on the side on DTS/Dolby too
I don't see any scenario whee either of DTS/Dolby agree to license their audio ports on one phone + it's costly for OEMs to get the licensing done
DTS headphone X/ultra found in Asus phones are already great, you get tons of customisation options and a custom equiliser
The dac is fine I guess (only LG has superior ESS dacs in the market and they cost a ton)
The sound balance you talk about (left/right) can be achieved by third party audio apps (Poweramp, blackplayerex) both are renowned audio players
On paper the specs looks great but I'm reality i don't think that's possible (it would either be too costly or those stuff won't fit inside the "phone")
A bit of spit comes a long way.
You probably meant "A bit of spit goes a long way", but I kind of like that version too haha.
This is just my wish list! LG is exactly at what I was aiming for and together with Rog 2 in my opinion the best phone at the moment. I love the sound of Rog 2 but I would include all protocols to make the phone future proof for streaming all content on Netflix, Amazon, Rakuten etc. With a pair of high quality headphones that would be a charm. I use Poweramp already the same as I use FilmicPro for video but I would prefer it to have the balaince slider in the audio wizard. So we are free to dream aren't we.
Actually that's true. If rog 3 becomes water resistant, I'd probably upgrade from my rog 2
Well no matter what im prepared for rog 3 but im definitely gonna go for rog 4 XD. Cos i cant buy a new phone every year. My parents are gonna throw me out of the house. Hahaha
Haha you are right. My bad.
I think the ROG 2 already has a lot of issues to be fixed before thinking about a 3rd ROG phone...
Wishing is for sure OK :)
At the same time there are real limitations designers need to consider. For example, I don't know of any phone of this particular size (ROG2) that actually uses a 6000mAh battery. Generally other large phones have smaller batteries. This of course mean more space inside to do other things, or to do things differently.
Well yeah they could have but ROG phone 2 is still king in battery and features.
I would like to see the return of the 6000mah (or higher) battery in the ROG phone 3. Tbh I don't see what you guys can improve on other than adding the latest GPU and CPU and maybe a 144hz screen to remain the spec king and keep the advantage over future competitor phones that are going to add a 120hz screens. The phone is perfect how it is right now imo.
