Grey Coating over photos

Rustylord

In 48mp camera, 48 mp mode makes my photo dull, things get a grey coating which makes my skin dark but the 12 mp mode takes my picture as it is how it must be.
I checked in all kinds of lighting too.
Have anyone faced this issue?

The opposite is true because 12 MP mode uses pixel binding.
The number of MPs is by far not the main parameter in terms of image quality. Of course, 48 MP can be useful if you want to crop a lot, for example.

Tone mapping/white balance is slightly different in 48mp. This is because we've spent more time on the 12mp algorithms. This is what the majority of all users use. With time, the difference will hopefully be so little that it isn't noticeable.

Image demosaic algorithm in 48MP mode and 12MP sharpness could use some adjustments too. It's all about details (or lack of) when zoomed to 1:1.
