Bug? Problem with bright voices.

I've recently gotten aware that my kids' voices don't register during normal phone calls, or through video calling apps like WhatsApp.
The other side can't hear them at all while they can hear me just fine. It worked fine a month ago.
Using a recording app I'm able to record their voices just fine, so I'm suspecting this is a software bug, not a hardware related.
Do anyone know any fix for this?

Just a question, have you updated the phone to the latest firmware?
And if it isn't updated, which firmware version is the phone on?
You can find your version by going to Settings -> System -> About phone -> Software information ->
There you will find the Build number, which starts with: WW_Phone***
