Yup You can! You just need to instal custom ROM like Lineage OS - you can now run Android 12 on Z5. Mine works like charm. Lineage 19.1 with Magisk and this old phone can do wonders :D
Just google - zenfone 5z lineage os - you will find full instruction.
You just open bootloader and via adb instal new ROM.
Remember that clean Lineage os is without google services - you need to add it (there is annotation in instruction).

The latest firmware of zenfone 5z(ZS620KL) version would be WW-100.10.107.123, and it only support Android 10.
I won't root my phone or install custom rom,i want Asus to fix basic features of Android 10 on Asus Zenfone 5z like hotspot getting disconnected etc

Asus should Atleast give security patch. so we can use this device for a year
They won't just buy a new phone
It is expected, but ASUS will not provide as Zenfone 5z has completed its 3 years of software support cycle.
ASUS is not samsung to keep investing on old models which will effect there enough budget resources.
