Proximity sensor problem during conversation

During the conversation, when I hold the phone to my ear, sometimes the screen wakes up and my ear starts up various functions of the phone. If I remember correctly, I experienced this behaviour with Android 11 as well. It is probably related to the Phone app, not the Android version.

The free Google Play app "Call Proximity Sensor Fix" completely solves the problem for call.
