I got this ramdump issue yesterday. What I did, I just press the power button and hold it until the screen turn off. Then press again the power bottom to turn on. Good thing it able to boot fine to Android. I'm lucky it able to recover.
May I know what is your phone batch (MFD)?
If you have warranty - then it's better to go to service and calibrate some settings there with special software. It's also better to show your issue directly in service instead of send device with problem description on paper. Mine was returned with "no issues are found". But when I called to service engineer phone he noticed issue then. Maybe one of the MIC's are defected (there are three of them in ZF8).
I bought this phone when it first launch in my country. Around Jun 2021. I not sure how to check the MFD.
You can see the MFD at the back of the phone box. Though I don't know where to look elsewhere if you don't have the box anymore.
Download cpuz from play store. It show there but I was quite sceptical whether that info in accurate. What is the relationship between MFD and this problem?
My phone is stuck in the repair service for three months after the ramdump issue. Please help. :(
If you (like me) hate configuring everything from scratch, then you could vote for that issue: https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/55401/possibility-to-backup-all-system-settings-in-case-of-zenfone8-brick-itself#latest
Look like once we sent out phone to Asus Center we need to buy new phone as backup or become main phone. Didn't you try contacting them about this issue or they just ignore you?
where are you from?
Mine died as well. I wish they could give an official explanation for this, because it really doesn't inspire confidence in using this phone..
I bet if it involve safety and there is a risk people can injured from this , maybe there will be an official statement. I never heard any company make official statement from any of the issue they introduce to the customer.
DOoyou facing wifi connecting issue + random phone reboot before the error on memory dump happen to you?
I believe if it involve safety and people can injured from it, there might be official statement from the company.
Do you facing wifi connecting issue + frequent random reboot before this happen to you?
For Zenfone 8 the major update comes with build 31.1004.0404.73
God bless us
Hopefully it comes with minimal issue. 🤲
My ZF8 is not bricked (yet xD), but it does turn off by itself and when I turn it back on the Wi-Fi cannot be connected. I mean, not the Wi-Fi from my router, the whole Wi-Fi connection. The button in the quick settings menu keeps grey and trying to connect it on the settings app does nothing. The only solution I've found is turning off and on until the Wi-Fi connection works.
I want to ask if any of your phones did something weird before bricking. I've searched about this issue for a few days and everything I've found says that it's a hardware issue. It also happens with HotSpot, so I think it must be a physical problem with the antennas.
I've found people with this issue on the Rog Phone 5 too.
I'm sad that all of this happens because it is a really good phone, shame on you Asus.
Btw, my MFD is 2021.05 and I've been using it for roughly 6 months now.
Greetings from Spain and happy holidays to everyone.
TL;DR: Did any of your Zenfone 8 do anything weird like restarting on its own before getting the ramdump issue?
I have the exact problem that you describe. Exactly the 6th month after I purchase it behave like that. I was hopping android 12 solve this issue. Have you try update to android 12?
I'm waiting for the update to arrive via OTA to my phone. I hope it does fix something.
Also I wrote the customer service and the answer were things like "restart your router" or "check settings of the phone". They didn't even understand the issue.
i have isolating our problem and open fresh post here
I hope Asus team can ratify about router compatibility issue. I'm still testing but things will get easier if Asus technical team can chime in and confirming my finding 🙃
Philippines. Other repair centers were able to fix it in just one month.
