Things are getting worst day by day in terms of battry

I kept phone idle for 8 hours,it drained upto 18%

And always on display screen wakeup on notification

    3. No background process

    Why thes things happening??

  • Apart from drain , everything else you complain about has to be enabled from settings and what do you mean by no background process just turn off super clean if your are having issues with appa in background,

Also have you tried factory reset to see if that fixes battery drain

  • I'm using ROG 3 for about a year now. Without having battery problems.

After updating to 2109.172 a few days ago, the battery is being drained so much faster. Before the update it was great and I was really satisfied with battery usage and performance. But now it's draining like a 3000 mah battery.

I'm sure this battery draining article which opened recently is because of the new update. So if you can give us a new one with the fix it's gonna be perfect. But please do it ASAP since rhe draining is so high that we can't really ignore it.

(the phone is not rooted and I haven't installed or changed anything on my phone from before the problem accursed and I've been facing it right after the update so I'm sure this is related to the update.)

  • Hi, captainMAD

Can you share the SOT after trying the below:

    1. Charge the battery to 100% & use as per your normal usage pattern

    2. When the battery strength reaches 10%, go to settings = Battery => Tap on the battery icon & share the graph

    3. settings => Battery => Check the screen & share the same

  • Ok thanks I will

  • Here is my battery usage after a normal usage day.

Before the update, I've had half of this amount drained also with twice using my phone.. No I'm just afraid to use it like before since the battery would be drained so so please!

  • There is issue with my battery usage stats. Does anyone know anything about this??

The mobile is less than 3 weeks old.

  • Damn that's a lot 😳

You are recharging to phone too often it seems and not letting it charge enough.

  • I have my rogphone3 since day one and i did always about 10+/12+hr (sometimes also 13+) of screen on every cycle... From half september, after the last (or the second-last, i don't remember) update, the battery dropped in one single charge, to 12+ hours of screen to a max 7 hours of screen (and i have to be really careful)... What it's happening with those latest patches? It destroyed the battery of the phone... I also sent it to asus assistance to see what was the problem, and they said it was the battery heating (never felt that btw) so they changed the battery, but it's always the same shitty battery life, so they also changed my battery for nothing... It's more than 2 months now that the battery went down bad, and no one seems to know why or how to fix it... I'm pretty tired of it now.

  • Even without any update i am seeing battery issues, like previously i had great back up even after playing long hours but now its discharging faster. 1st pic shows excellent backup, later pics shows the difference.

  • I second that. After recent update .172, battery backup is totally reduced. Previously it was great.. @ARP_ASUS Kindly take this issue to dev team

  • Thank you for the suggestion.

I turned off the mobile for about an hour and restarted it. All stats had gone.

Charged to about 75% and checked.. None of the apps went over 80%.

But after 5 days of continued usage i see couple of apps going over 100%.

I also tried over 90% charge and it corrected the stats.

But I don't want to charge it over 80% as it says battery life will significantly reduce if charged over 80% on every recharge.

The only way to reset those stats is to charge above 90%. It is the default behaviour of Android system.

Apps like Facebook, Instagram, Messenger are main culprits to battery drains. Restrict it's activity as much as possible or better, uninstall them and use the Lite versions. Google app is also a problem as it is always wanting to know about you - so again, restricting these will help your battery.

It could be a palliative, but it's not a solution to this real problem... I always used fb, instagram, google and messenger without any restriction, and i always did 12hr of screen... When the update came out, after a single charge (always slow charge, always planned charge, always detached within 30 minutes after reaching 100%, always first detaching the brick from the socket and at least 10 seconds after i detach the cable from the phone) the battery life dropped from a 12+hr to a 7hr for every cycle, AND I DIDN'T CHANGE ANY HABIT, ANY USE, ANY SETTINGS... and is now almost 3 months that my battery is almost half the capacity of the pre-update battery, and, i repeat, it dropped in one single charge without any change to the phone or it's use... It's undoubtedly a software problem, and no one has done nothing since it appeared...

P.s.: i always put the phone in airplane mode during the night and where previously i was doing a max 1% of battery drain till the morning, now i do even 4% of battery drain with the same conditions... And no, it's not me that sleeps four times more than before but the phone that consume ate least four times more than before.

Your habbits has nothing to do with what I have said though I didn't explain it properly. What the app does in the background is what you should be more concerned about about. Remember where their revenue is coming from 😀

Turning aeroplane mode and battery still drains suggest it might be another problem in it's own. No one else has mentioned it.
