Headphone mic not working while gaming

- Firmware Version: 18.0410.2109.172
- Rooted or not: No
- Frequency of Occurrence: always
- APP Name & APP Version (If your issue relates to the app)

The headphone mic does not work properly while gaming. My friends cannot hear my voice.
I have done all mic tests and headset mic test and all of them pass
I have started encountering this issue once my phone installed the last automatic system update on Saturday.
Please help.

Are you using Discord or any apps that could be using the microphone at the same time? If so, I believe only one can do the microphoning as oppose to both.
However, below are some steps to take if the above doesn't apply.
Ensure you have provided the neccessary microphone permission to the game in question, Armoury Crate, Game Genie.
If this doesn't work, then reset preferences and permissions which can be found at - Settings - Reset options - Reset app preferences.
This will wipe out default app preferences and permissions, so you should be requested for granting permissions to the app.
I am only using this phone for gaming, i have made sure that the only applications that have microphone permission are pubg, genie game and armoury crate. I am not recording or using any third party application.
When i start the game, the microphone looks fine, but with time the quality of the voice decreases massively, it sounds like i'm in a tunnel or something like that.
Only happens while gaming.
I have tested the microphone of my phone and the microphone of my headset and they are working 100% fine.
And as i mentioned before this problem started immediately after my phone installed the latest software update.
Anything maybe i can try to fix this issue.

Is the following settings enabled in Amoury Crate:
Amoury Crate - Console - Disable fan when microphone is active.
Ensure this is enabled.
Yes it's already enabled, and just to add i have tried to factory reset the phone two times to no avail

It is possible for exemple to reinstall the latest firmware on my phone or to go back to the previous one
You can always try factory reset as I don't have another suggestion for this.
What firmware have you been before when it was working for you?
I wish i could know that, as i'm checking now i am running the latest firmware version available on asus website
i have the same problem, my mic is working well in call. but when i access to game its not working at all. there's a call setting in audio before when I activate my mic on game, but now its gone when i update my phone to new version. Maybe that's the reason why mic is not functioning in game?
one the 1st pic there is the call audio settings,
now on 2nd pic its not there anymore, whith the new firmware update.
When did you update last before last one?
This is the first update that got installed on my phone, i bought it recently from a friend
I'm suspecting you were on A10 😊 they broke couple things in A11 and I've reverted back to A10....

Check deadlyindian thread on xda in xda RogPhone3 guides forum (can't post links yet sorry) and let me know if you got it. Remember you need to use side port to get fastboot connection with your pc.
There is also ww img available on asus website to downgrade as they know they fu** this up. Not sure if it will work for you. And last thing make backup of your data as everything will get wiped. I'm using swift backup but I'm rooted.

Hello everyone, just to sum it up.
When my phone updated the software automatically to the latest version, i have started to face issues with the mic only while gaming (people cannot hear me clearly or sometimes it does not work at all).
I have tried everything on the phone from checking the mic permissions and the settings on the phone to factory resetting it three times to no avail.
The issue has been resolved eventually when i downgraded the firmware on my device from the latest version to 18.0410.2108.158.
