Hide navigation bar / gesture pill

Hi,
I'm 99% done setting up my new ZenFone 8 and I am loving it, but there is one final feature missing from the phone compared to my old Samsung Galaxy, and that is the ability to hide the navigation bar.
Android 11 removed the simple workaround (www.xda-developers.com/google-confirms-overscan-gone-android-11-crippling-third-party-gesture-apps/) we had to hide the navigation bar, so without the support of Asus, my only options to prevent the inevitable pill-shaped OLED burn in is to either root my phone, or burn a custom rom.
I'm pretty sure both of those options will void my warranty, so I was hoping as ZenFones used to have this feature (https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/11277/zenfone-how-to-hide-navigation-bar), that it will be reimplemented when the Android 12 beta ends.
As lame as this might sound to you, this is a big deal to a lot of people (https://www.google.com/search?q=android+11+hide+navigation+bar) so hopefully the devs will be able to make it work!
Thanks for reading 👍

I've tried through multiple emails to get this through to the developers. Their eventual response was.
'the zenfone 8 doesn't have this feature'

Lost all confidence in Asus and will be switching to another brand the second another company brings out a compact android phone with similar features :'(

Hide navigation bar / gesture pill
dude, this phone has way more serious issues than the navigation bar, i would like devs to focus on those first 🙂
