Hi there,
Let's check in Task manager or your battery report to see if there is something working in the background and you didn't notice.
Thank you.

battery drains depending upon running background applications and task scheduler Registered applications.
Also many applications continuously runs background without our knowledge, so battery keeps drains .
for example Google Chrome browser, Microsoft chromium edge browser keeps running background.

@garrash I had this problem too when I first got the laptop. It fixed itself at some point and I can't figure out what exactly did it. All I can say is try to make sure all of your drivers are up to date, check windows update, myasus updates including bios revisions, intel graphics command, and then maybe check task scheduler to make sure things are not over-triggering. Also, check your nvidia drivers, because the MX450 should be disabled for most tasks including running the desktop - it is a huge drain if something like Google Chrome is using the MX450 in the background.

If you want you could use a battery monitoring app like BatteryMon to see what your idle wattage is. For reference, my idle wattage is somewhere near 2-4W with the screenpad+ off, 4-6W with it on and 12-21W while doing some moderate/heavy stuff. It will draw maybe over 28W when gaming I think but I'm not too worried about gaming battery life
