Gboard settings keep getting reset after some time

Hi, after a few hours my Gboard settings are reset to the defaults. I have no idea what's causing this. Since I didn't find any others online with that problem, I thought it has to be unique to the zenfone.

Any idea what could cause this? It's really annoying, I basically have to reconfigure Gboard every time I pick up my phone.

Ok, I tried it, after about an hour of not using the phone it was reset again. But something I just noticed, when I unlocked my phone I got a permission popup of Gboard asking for access to my contacts (which I allowed), might be relevant? The popup was just there after unlocking without me doing anything.

Also i may suggest you please wait for next Gboard update from playstore and then see if your problem gets solved & also 2nd thing is i would say please wait for next FOTA and see that helps you, if both conditions did not make any diffrence than last hope is factory data reset your device and than check again if behaviour is same. At the same time provide your logs if moderators ask you that should help to debug issue and fix it for next FOTA.
Thanks!

Hi

Do you have any twinned app enabled ? (TwinApp)

Yes, I have Discord duplicated. Regarding google syncing settings, I also have Gboard on the iPhone.

One likely culprit could be the app twinning, where the Google account is also duplicated in some ways for that function.
Gboard would also be separate and it could cause this issue we are seeing here.
Our devs have been informed.

Yes I agree. Restarting the phone also resets the settings (might take a few minutes after restarting), but after I removed the twin app, and that doesn't happen anymore. And enabling the twin app resets gboard again (it also mentions downloading things for gboard in the notifications bar).
Anyways, thank you for your help

Its good to see finally we all know the real culprit. Hopefully this issue should get solved soon with future firmwares now.
Cheers!
