Capturing all the conversation above:
If the ambient temperature is high and you use the phone for any App apart from some Games which will ideally raise the temperature.
Temp on the phone will rise depending on the usage and time
You can restart your phone or clean up the device memory and kill background Apps which can cause random usage
Summer season is here and 35-40 degree ambient is very normal
