The Darker (Screen Filter) App doesn't work when gaming with Game Genie enabled

Not all apps will work over Amoury Crate. So you will have to keep looking for the app.
Also, once you find it, ensure you have accessibility enabled and also display over other apps is enabled.
Android only allow 1 app to display over other apps. So you're out of luck for now.
There are apps out there that works.
Works for me anyway, but do not know how to show you this on screenshots.

Thank you. It works. Accessibility might be the key. The other apps I tried which didn't work do not request accessibility.

I suspect results will differ depending on how the application implements it's overlay function, as shown by the example provided by @ronald1985. Google Play should have a plethora of apps that alter display brightness, so my suggestion is to test around until you find one that suits your specific needs and works alongside Game Genie.
