Is there a solution for my Zenfone 5z's blurry primary camera?

My Zenfone 5z was working fine untill last 4-5 months ago when suddenly it's primary 12MP camera got a problem of unable to focus. Tried several methods including factory reset, safe mode reset, downgrading to Android Pie and many more...but the problem still persists..lastly after emailing them and having said all they asked me to take it to the Nearest Service Centre. Is this a solution guys? Service centre guys have opted me two things- a software reset or change of camera module worth 3k+ Rupees..

Hi friends

Thank you for your asking. Kindly try some stay-at-home troubleshooting tips below:

1. Please try clearing cache & storage of Camera (long press "Camera">App Info>Storage & memory>Clear cache/Clear storage), then try to re-install 3rd party camera apps and check again.

2. Please try to enter "Safe Mode". If the function works well in Safe Mode yet the issue remains out of Safe Mode, please check on any disturbance from the installed 3rd party apps.

3. Also, please try "the Factory Reset"

Settings>System>Reset options>Erase all data(factory reset)

Please note that once the Factory Reset is completed, all data, apps, settings and personal information will be deleted.

4. Please check on SMMI test

Calculator> type ".12345+=">SMMI TEST>Single Test>Wide-angled Camera Capture Test/Tele Camera Capture Test/Front Camera Capture Test

If any of the SMMI tests fails, indicating high possibility of faulty hardware, kindly bring your device to the nearest ASUS repair center for device checking: https://www.asus.com/support/Service-Center-All-Countries/

If it is impossible to access the service center during Covid-19 period, please try Call us: https://www.asus.com/support/CallUs

If your device is in warranty and there is not CID, the repair center will take care of the device. If the device is out of warranty or it has been fallen/broken before, which causing CID, the repair center will charge for module repair fee after your confirmation.

@Christine_ASUS Thanks for the reply.
What if the device is out of warranty and no customer induced defect? Which most of us have.

Hi suraj051
Thank you for your asking. As I mentioned above, please note that CID or out of warranty device will be charged for module repairing fee.
Please note that usage behavior like using the device in a humid environment (bath room, steam..) and extreme environment can also trigger hardware issue.

How can you claim that you never drop your phone?
CID is normally considered for LCD replacement. If 100% no CID, why can you use your camera in the past.
