This thread is to highlight the crashing issue that has plagued Zenfone 6 since the 167 FOTA update. Please, whoever is having this issue, leave a comment stating the same under this thread so the mods stop shunning this issue away as a hardware problem. Let them know that people are having this issue.
The reason behind this being stated as a hardware problem is probably to extort people of their one and only free hardware repair covered under warranty. Please don't let this happen. The phone as I count has crashed 47 times today itself. How much do you expect me to bear? Your phone has a shitty resale value so I can't easily sell this and buy the good old OnePlus (An option which I am really starting to consider seriously let me tell you)
File a claim in the local consumer forum. The set is clearly defective. If you purchased it very recently, your claim shall ordinarily be accepted by the consumer court. I am speaking this with the backing of some past experience. Their FOTA wrecked some sets so a return is not a very big thing for Asus to accept.
Also you should know that this process can be easily done without the help of a lawyer as the consumer forum process has been made quite easy now.
Sadly class action suits is still not a thing in India.
However, I have been using my 6z since a month now. I have not had a single crash or restart ever. When i got my set, I had updated it to .174. I think .167 was the one with the restart issues.
