Airtel VoLTE and VoWiFi in Asus Phones : India

subhojit_dey

Please tell us some basic information before asking for help:
Model Name: Asus Zenfone 5z, 6z , Max Pro M1, Max Pro M2, ROG Phone 2, ROG Phone 3
Firmware Version: All
Rooted or not: No
Frequency of Occurrence: -
APP Name & APP Version (If your issue relates to the app): Calling (VoLTE and VoWifi)
In addition to information above, please also provide as much details as you can, e.g., using scenario, what troubleshooting you've already done, screenshot, etc.
========================================

There is a very large subscriber base of Airtel subscribers in India. Along with Jio, Airtel subscribers also contribute to the majority of 4g users. However, for some weird reason, ASUS phones are not recognized by Airtel as either supporting VoLTE or VoWiFi.
VoLTE can still be used in ASUS phones for Airtel through one of these tricks:
1) Using the sim in a Airtel supported phone beforehand (eg: Samsung, iPhone)
2) Forcing customer care executive to activate VoLTE for your SIM even though they keep arguing that your device is not recognized as Airtel VoLTE compatible.
Airtel's official website does not even recognize ASUS as a smartphone brand.
Airtel VoLTE - Voice Over LTE Services Works on Airtel 4G

For VoWiFi none of those above tricks even work. So Airtel VoWifi is a no go on ASUS phones.
Airtel's official website doesn't recognize ASUS even as smartphone brand, and its not like they don't update the page because infant brands like iQOO are there.
Airtel Wifi Calling, Voice Over Wifi Calling
All I am asking is, is there an issue with Airtel and ASUS that we do not know about. If so, can it be resolved since Airtel is a major player in this country. Thanks!
@Averan @aamod.v8 @amitgarde3 please escalate this if you can. Thanks!

Happy New Year all, it has been a while and I don't actually mind porting to JIO once my pack validity ends but here's something I want you guys to help me with if possible. I'm still skeptical about using JIO as my primary number. I use just one sim and its important that it is reachable most of the time. Other usages include some travelling within cities and sometimes to remote areas. Airtel is not the best network out there but in most places at least the voice calls work. Data speeds are okayish in most places too. Is JIO reliable enough throughout India? Please help. Thanks!

I'm using only one sim card that is "Jio" and that too as a primary number.
What I have seen till this time that Jio is the best suitable Sim card for 5z users. I have used every company's sim but the most reliable one is Reliance Jio.
I personally I can't confirm about the Internet Speed but yes what I can confirm is Jio is the only company which has the biggest 4G network coverage reach pan India, if not the best. Because you know 2G has better coverage than 4G but hey who use 2G after paying 4G charges, just to call?
Jio has very good 4G network reach if compared to others. This is I can confirm but remember there is always a term "T&C applied" applies on every matter.
So research a bit and then port.

Thanks all! This is helpful.

However ASUS should still look forward to working with Airtel and maintain essential features. Thanks!
