========================
Detailed description:Around October 17-19, my laptop(BIOS 308, the latest offered by MyASUS) performance suddenly decreased. For example, playing videos games my FPS would be 60 normally, but now it is 9-30. Overall, there are stuttering and lagging when playing video games. My internet is working fine. Streaming videos, doing multiple tasks, or downloading, there are noticeable lag. MyASUS(V2.2.44.0) checkup shows there may be an issue with the fan. I've went to Nvidia Control Panel and set it to High-Performance Nvidia Processor, Power Option and set to High Performance and still nothing. Using Turbo mode, the fans are somewhat quiet and CPU/GPU fan kicks up to 2800-2900 RPM. Normally, using Turbo mode, the laptop emits a very loud noise and CPU/GPU fan kicks well over 5000-5500 RMP. So something is wrong here. I've also installed ASUS System Control Interface V2( V2.2.30.0) and reinstall MyASUS and the problem still persist. I've also resetted my laptop twice and it fixed nothing. I've checked Task Manager and Armoury Crate(V3.1.6.0), CPU/GPU temperatures seems fine. I'm not tech savy and not sure what is going on. Could it be CPU/GPU fan? Or motherboard? If you need more information to help a guy out, please ask.
Edit: I also should mention when I do Full Scan on Window Virus Security, it usually take 15-20 minutes and utilization of CPU is 98-99%. Now, it takes slighty longer and utilization of CPU is around 33%. I don't know if that info will help. I've also never underclocked or overlocked my CPU because I don't know how to do that.
Edit 2: I've emailed ASUS about the issue. It will take 48 hours for them to get back. I will update as soon as ASUS respond.
Thank you

After updating my FX505GT, which fixed all the fan issues and performance issues, I have encountered 2 new issues.

First i have noticed that i can't turn off my laptop the regular way, only if I press the power button for a few seconds.

Second issue is with the sleep mode. I can not put my laptop into sleeping mode, the screen goes black, but the fans are still spinning and i can't wake it up. Only solution is to press the power button for a few seconds again to switch the laptop off.

Try this

1. Turn Off Fast Startup:
Fast startup was first introduced in windows 8. Now, This is one of the core features of Microsoft windows which is helpful to boot even faster. But, This cool feature can be a reason shutdown problem for some older PC or laptops. So, When you face any shutdown issue in windows 10 or 8.1, I suggest you to turn off fast startup temporary. Here are the instructions to do it:
First of all, Press Windows + X from keyboard and choose Power Options. But, If you don’t see such option there, You can navigate to Control Panel\System and Security\Power Options.
Now, Click on Choose what power buttons do.
Then, Click on Change settings that are currently unavailable.

Solution for FX 505 GT lag and performance drop issues.

BIOS downgrading won't fix this problem as it auto updates on every reboot.

Do this thing instead ,

Go to windows search and type -msconfig.

Click enter and go to services and check- hide all microsoft services.

Then disable the following services shown in the pic below and restart the laptop.

Untick these services and click apply and ok.

(Also disable extend battery life in gaming from intel grahics panel)

NOTE:

Armoury crate and My asus wont work after following the above mentioned procedure.

To revert back you just need to enable all those services and restart the laptop.

Till asus fixes this issue this solution works.

I'm so thankful for this post.
I was starting to heavily worry that I may need to look into replacing a semi new laptop. My laptop became super choppy and slow and could not run anything without tanking in performance. So for those who are having problems that are speed and performance issues I would recommend finding this original post and giving it a try, after I tried it my laptop began to run super fast again with no performance issues

Hello, i've updated my bios to 309 but still have the same issue. My fps suddenly decrease and start to stuttering on every game i have, sometimes even under 10 fps.
I've tried to disable the service that this forum gave but still, nothing change.

Hi everyone. Just an update. After nearly 3 weeks of updating to BIOS 309, my FX505GT-BI5N7 performance has returned back to normal. Armoury Crate and MyASUS is working like normal and no issues whatsoever. No issues when playing videos games. It's still unfortunate that some people still experience issues with their laptop and I hope it gets fixed very soon. I want to thank everyone who contributed to this post since the beginning.

Same issue on FX705DT after bios update I have lag/stutter on what used to be a smooth machine., my bios version is 315. I emailed them anyway and hopefully they'll get back soon with a fix. Disappointed, my first gaming laptop. It was fine before the bios update.
